Abstract

This research faces challenges in the form of many elementary school students who are still socially immature. The aim of the research is to investigate the impact of implementing the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) Cooperative Learning Method on the social maturity of elementary school students. The research method used was an experiment with a one-group pretest-posttest design, involving 21 class III students from Karyamakmur III Elementary School. Data was collected through questionnaires and analyzed quantitatively using descriptive and inferential statistical techniques. The results of the analysis show a significant increase in students' social maturity after implementing TGT, supported by hypothesis testing with a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05. The application of the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) method in the educational environment has been proven to encourage cooperation between students through team grouping, positive interactions, and healthy competition to achieve joint learning goals. The conclusion confirms that TGT has a positive impact on strengthening students' social maturity, in accordance with the principles of the constructivist approach theory in learning. Thus, TGT is considered an effective learning strategy for developing students' social maturity through positive social interactions and teamwork in a supportive learning environment
